“It Looked Like I Stopped Halfway”
Situation

Amit studied in a government college near Deoria. Marks were decent, nothing flashy. MSc coaching posters started appearing everywhere after results. His friends talked in groups — “Bas ek saal aur push kar lete hain.” His father said quietly at dinner, “Agar padhna hai toh kar lo. Agar kaam karna hai toh bhi theek.” His mother didn’t say anything, just served food. Amit took a local lab job. Neighbours asked his parents why he didn’t “try properly.”
