Situation
Mahesh topped his district board exam in a town near Akola. National entrance didn’t go the same way. He missed NITs, got into a reputed state engineering college. Relatives said aim higher next time. Mahesh felt embarrassed.

The college had good teachers, active alumni, local industry ties. Mahesh did internships early. He wasn’t competing with IIT toppers daily — he was building steadily. His job didn’t come from rank. It came from effort.
