“Rank Came. Dream Didn’t.”
Situation
Arpit studied in Kota. Two years of coaching, mocks, pressure, no festivals, no life. Result day came like a storm. He got a very good rank. Family celebrated like it was final victory. But counselling rounds began and the reality showed up: his rank could get him IIT, yes, but not the IIT and not the branch he had been chasing in his head for two years.

Everyone is clapping. I am also smiling. But inside I keep seeing the branch I didn’t get. Why am I feeling greedy now?
Having Said That…
He joined an IIT with a branch he never spoke about earlier. First semester, he felt restless, like he was wearing the wrong shirt. Slowly, friends, projects, coding clubs made the gap smaller. Years later, nobody asks his rank. People ask what he can do. The disappointment didn’t vanish, but it stopped ruling him.
