Situation
Shweta got a strong JEE rank. Options came in a confusing shape: IIT with a non-core branch, or top NIT with Computer Science. Friends said IIT tag matters forever. Parents said choose what gives stable career. Teachers gave mixed advice. Shweta felt like she was choosing her entire future in one counselling form.

If I pick IIT, I’ll keep explaining my branch. If I pick NIT, I’ll keep defending the college. Either way, people won’t shut up.
Having Said That…
She chose NIT CSE. Some relatives acted like she settled. In college, she didn’t feel like she settled. She got internships, built skills, found her pace. The IIT vs NIT debate became background noise. The branch choice helped her sleep better.
