Situation
Ritesh prepared for a state engineering entrance. He wasn’t a topper type, but he worked hard. On result day, he missed his preferred government college by a thin margin. Family said take any seat and move on. Friends said take a drop, one more year, you’ll crack it. Ritesh felt trapped between two fears: wasting a year vs living with “almost”.

If I take a drop, what if nothing improves? If I don’t, what if I regret forever? Why does this feel like a life sentence?
Having Said That…
He took the nearby college seat. First few months, he felt bitter. Later, he found a good group, did projects, got into internships. His career didn’t become smaller because his college name was smaller. He still remembers the one-mark gap. But he doesn’t live inside it.
