Megha cracked NEET with a good score. Family wanted government seat, any government seat. Friends were obsessed with “top medical college” names. When allotment came, she got a government college, but not the one everyone was posting about. Her parents were grateful. Her friends were comparing.

My parents are relieved. My friends are ranking colleges like restaurants. I feel guilty for wanting more when I already got so much.

She joined. First year, she kept checking what others got. Slowly, the work took over. Patients didn’t care about college brand. Seniors didn’t care after a point. Her skill improved, confidence grew. The initial dissatisfaction faded. Not because she lowered standards, but because reality became louder than comparison.
