Situation
Sowmya cleared engineering with good marks and joined an IT services company in Visakhapatnam. Everyone expected her to switch, go abroad, do MS. Friends kept posting university photos. Family saved money assuming she would leave. Sowmya stayed. Married at 27. People said she played safe.

Maybe I could have gone further. Or maybe I would have burned out trying to prove something.

Her career moved slowly but steadily. No big jumps. No big stress either. Parents stopped mentioning “foreign.” Friends now complain about visas and pressure. Sowmya doesn’t feel successful. She feels present. Her family sees that and stops worrying.
