Situation

Manish was in his second year of a sales role. Month-end pressure. Targets pending. One retailer finally agreed to place a decent order. But while finalizing, the retailer casually said — “Bill thoda adjust kar dena… scheme ka benefit mil jayega.” Manager’s voice echoed in his head — “This quarter matters.” Colleague whispered — “Sab karte hain… close kar le.”

He didn’t close it. Lost the incentive that month. Felt stupid for a few days. But two months later, the same retailer called him back — “Tum seedha kaam karte ho… aapke saath kaam karte hain.” He didn’t just recover the deal — he gained trust. Now he says — “Target ek baar miss hua tha… par game samajh aa gaya.”
