Vegetables - Fresh and Surplus
Situation; Ms. Aarti has spent nearly eight years building a fresh vegetable supply business to several leading Quick Commerce companies. Every day a sizeable quantity of vegetables remains unsold - some surplus consists of excellent quality vegetables that could not be dispatched because of lower demand. Some consists of sorting surplus—perfectly edible but not matching the strict grading standards of Quick Commerce companies.
Every evening she struggles with the same question. How do I convert this daily surplus into a additional profit generating business instead of treating it as a problem?

Option 1. "We should immediately look for more wholesale buyers, institutional kitchens and food processors. If we find enough bulk buyers, most of the surplus problem will disappear."

Option 2. "Before searching for buyers, let us first look Street vendors, colony vegetable carts, neighborhood retailers and weekly market. How do I find if instead of creating a new market, can we become the most reliable supplier to an existing one?"

Reflection; What thinking comes closest to your own? If you were advising Ms. Aarti, what additional suggestion would you make before investing in a new surplus business?
Mentor's Reflection; Surplus is not always a waste problem. Sometimes it is a market-matching problem.
