Over the years, Hello Kisan has observed a rapidly growing phenomenon across India. Thousands of urban professionals, retired persons, business families, NRIs, farmer families, and first-generation investors are purchasing agricultural land or inheriting agricultural properties. Many want to establish orchards, organic farms, dairy farms, farmhouses, agroforestry projects, nurseries, protected cultivation projects, medicinal plant farms, integrated farming systems, or other farm enterprises.

Unfortunately, most investments begin without proper planning.

People invest in land before understanding water.

They invest in plantations before understanding markets.

They build infrastructure before understanding economics.

They spend money before preparing a business plan.

As a result, large amounts of money are wasted every year.

Hello Kisan intends to address this problem by creating a new generation of Farm Business Advisors who can help farmers and farm investors make informed decisions.

This internship is the first step in building that profession.

Many prepare for government jobs.

Many prepare for competitive examinations.

Many waits for recruitment notifications.

Many remain unemployed.

Many accept jobs completely unrelated to agriculture.

At the same time, India has millions of farms requiring advice.

Millions of landowners requiring guidance.

Millions of farmers making investment decisions.

Thousands of farm development projects.

And very few people available to provide structured, practical, professional farm advisory services.

Hello Kisan believes that Farm Advisory Services can become one of the largest emerging professional opportunities in rural India.

This internship has therefore been created not merely to provide temporary employment but to help participants build a long-term professional career.

Note: This is one of the largest Farm Advisory Internship Programs being proposed under the Hello Kisan platform.

5. What Exactly Will You Work On?

5.1 Assignment 1 – Farm Business Plan Preparation

Interns will participate in farm surveys, data collection, farm assessment, infrastructure evaluation, water assessment, enterprise selection, investment planning, and report preparation activities.

The objective is to support preparation of Farm Business Plan Reports under the Hello Kisan framework.

Expected Output:

Professional Farm Business Plan Reports for assigned clients.

5.2 Assignment 2 – Farm Development & Advisory Support

Interns will assist clients in understanding implementation priorities, investment sequencing, farm development options, and operational challenges.

Expected Output:

Farm Development Advisory Notes and Client Support Documentation.

5.3 Assignment 3 – Farm Opportunity Discovery

Interns will learn to identify farms, farm owners, investor farmers, absentee landowners, urban landowners, and farm families who may require advisory services.

The objective is to understand the actual needs, challenges, opportunities, and aspirations of potential clients.

Expected Output:

Client Opportunity Profiles and Farm Opportunity Database.

6. Time Commitment

6.1 Days Per Week

Continuous with periodical gaps of 1-2 weeks.

6.2 Minimum Hours Per Week

As Required for Assigned Activities

Mostly Daytime with flexibility depending on work and travel requirements.

Yes.

However, Farm Advisory is not a desk job. The majority of learning will happen in villages, farms, fields, orchards, nurseries, markets, and client locations.

Important Note:

Approximately 90% of the internship involves field work and only 10% involves office work and documentation. So those who realy enjoy outdoors should come forward.

7. What Support Will Be Provided During Internship?

7.1 Mentoring Support

Interns will receive guidance from experienced professionals associated with Hello Kisan, agriculture experts, farm practitioners, entrepreneurs, and advisors.

7.2 Guided Learning Support

Interns will receive structured exposure to farm planning, farm economics, irrigation, plantations, animal husbandry, infrastructure development, farm enterprises, project costing, and business planning methodologies.

8.Review Frequency

Monthly Formal Reviews and Continuous Field Mentoring.

9. Communication Channel

Data on Dash Board, WhatsApp, Email, Phone Calls, Google Meet, Zoom, Team Meetings, Field Reviews, and Client Interactions.

10. Outcomes – What Will You Learn?

10.1 Agriculture and Farm Sector Knowledge

Practical understanding of agriculture, horticulture, agroforestry, livestock, irrigation, farm infrastructure, farm economics, and rural enterprises.

10.2 Professional Competencies

Client interaction, communication, field surveys, data collection, report writing, business planning, presentation, problem-solving, and advisory skills.

10.3 Performance Parameters

Professional behavior, ownership, initiative, field productivity, learning ability, communication quality, and contribution to client outcomes.

10.4 Project – Operations Management

Understanding how farms function as businesses rather than merely production units.

10.5 Team Collaboration

Working with farmers, landowners, FPOs, Van Mitras, professionals, consultants, and stakeholders.

10.6 AI and Digital Interface

Use of AI tools, mapping tools, digital documentation systems, farm planning software, and productivity tools.

10.7 Resource Optimization

Learning how land, water, labor, capital, knowledge, and markets can be combined to create successful farm enterprises.

11. How Performance Will Be Documented and Evaluated?

11.1 For 40% – Quality of Deliverables

Evaluation will consider the quality of farm surveys, client interactions, data collection, observations, business plans, advisory notes, presentations, and recommendations submitted during the internship.

The emphasis will not be on paperwork alone. Greater importance will be given to practical usefulness, accuracy, field relevance, and value created for clients.

11.2 For 30% – Ownership & Initiative

Evaluation will consider the intern's willingness to travel, meet stakeholders, identify opportunities, solve problems, take responsibility, and work independently.

The future Farm Advisor must be capable of creating opportunities rather than waiting for instructions.

11.3 For 20% – Timeliness

Evaluation will consider punctuality, responsiveness, commitment to deadlines, follow-up discipline, and consistency of work.

Farm development activities often depend on seasons, weather, cropping cycles, and farmer schedules. Delays can have real consequences.

11.4 For 10% – Professional Conduct

Evaluation will consider integrity, honesty, behavior with farmers, communication skills, teamwork, discipline, learning attitude, and respect for stakeholders.

Note: Evaluation will be based on actual field work, reports, client interactions, presentations, farm visits, mentoring sessions, and evidence generated during the internship.

Preference shall be given to students and graduates from Agriculture and Allied Disciplines including:

12.4 Is Selection Based on Academic Marks?

No.

Academic performance is immaterial in the selection process. However, communication skills, practical understanding, sincerity, field orientation, learning attitude, and commitment to building a career will carry much greater weight.

12.5 Is Selection Guaranteed?

No.

Selection will depend upon available positions, location mapping suitability, seriousness, mentoring capacity, and alignment with program objectives.

12.6 Can Candidates Reapply?
