Q12. Degree Shock to Skill Uprising; This term grew when students and employers both realized that degrees alone no longer guarantee jobs. Around 2015–2022, social media, startups, and skill academies pushed the idea that skills matter more than certificates. Today it’s a nationwide shift — from Jaipur to Jalandhar, everyone knows someone who got hired for “what they can do,” not “what they studied.” The old degree pride is fading, and the skill uprising is taking its place.
