Is a metallurgical engineer with post-graduation in non-ferrous metallurgy, both from MREC (now MNIT) Jaipur. He worked in the fields of mining, mineral beneficiation, non-ferrous metallurgy, environmental management and general management in large mining and metallurgical operations. He is a recipient of Hindustan Zinc Gold Metal from Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) for his contributions to the Sustainable Development of mining and Non-Ferrous Metallurgical Industry.

He worked as CEO of Sustainable Mining Initiative (SMI) and Additional Secretary General at Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI), where he worked in the policy and regulatory fields, promoting the cause of sustainable mining in India. During this period, he was instrumental in preparing R&R plans for iron ore mines closed by SC in Karnataka.

He is currently working as an independent consultant in the field of environment, advising diverse industry sectors including mining. He is one of the founder directors of the Recycling and Environment Industries Association of India (REIAI) and has a keen interest in recycling and circular economy. He has undertaken many training programs on sustainable mining, environment management and waste management.
